There is a growing international need for a registrar where members of the public can inquire about qualified cosmetic practitioners in their area and where the public can confirm the levels of training and experience as well as whether the cosmetic practitioner has indemnity insurance.

Although different legal systems and different countries may have respective structures, generally a professional register can be one of the following:

  • Voluntary Register:  Where the practitioners of a profession have a choice whether to be registered.
  • Accredited Register: Where there is a Government supported body that supervises the register.
  • Statutory Register: Where there is a specific law in a Country to regulate registration.
